YOUR ROLE : 

 

The head of the administrative and financial department of the Legal Department - Maritime Affairs is responsible for supervising the team in charge of the management and production of financial and accounting information for his entity.

 

You will report to the Deputy Legal Counsel within the maritime litigation dept. in order to supervise the team in charge of monitoring, managing and processing supplier invoices and payments to be made to claimants.

 

You will be responsible, with your team, for accounting operations and the corresponding entries to produce financial statements related to the management of litigation. You will also ensure the recording and routing of all incoming administrative documents, writ of summons and court decisions, ensure the identification of related files and keep an up-to-date record of the appointments of lawyers nominated by the in-house lawyers. In close collaboration with the in-house lawyers, your manager and the accounting department, you will ensure the reconciliation of statements of account with the group's insurers and the collection to be carried out with the latter or third parties. You will be responsible for ensuring the correct entry and consistency of financial data in the files attached to the Legal Department's - maritime litigation department.

 

You will be responsible for the planning and distribution of administrative, financial and accounting tasks within your team and will even participate in their completion. You will help to draw up the working procedures of the teams attached to the Legal Department in your area of expertise.

 

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO? 

 

Your main responsibilities are:

 

  • Supervising your team in order to ensure the management of the expenses/revenues of the Maritime Affairs Department within the Legal Department (supplier/claimant settlements, responsible third party or insurer recoveries, agent control, claims reviews...).
  • Updating the dashboards to guarantee the indicators necessary for monitoring the department's activity, lawyer appointments, court decisions, team’s performance,
  • To ensure the consistency of the financial data generated by the Maritime Affairs Department within the Legal Department and to ensure compliance with the Legal Department's expenditure commitment policy.

 

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR? 

 

  • With a background in Accounting and Management, you have an operational level of English.
  • You are autonomous, very rigorous, and have an analytical mind and a strong sense of initiative.
  • You know how to set up effective reporting
