THE ROLE

Within the Group Purchasing Department, as the Infrastructure (civil engineering) Buyer you are in charge of all the steps of the purchasing act. You are in charge of the harmonization of internal processes in your field of expertise, you are involved in the coordination of various stakeholders in order to suggest the most optimized solutions for the Group. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

•    Participate to Head Office (HO) Procurement activites for Infrastructure and relay best practices & process from Head Office.
•    Communicate and report on actions (KPI, dashboard, action plan) to HO Group Procurement.
•    Ensure the proper application of HO defined procurement strategies.
•    Evaluate & select the adequat panel for worldwide engineering and construction needs.
•    Challenge, clarify the operational needs and analyze the technical specifications.
•    Sourcing the best suppliers for your purchasing family: engineering and construction.
•    Establish and implement the purchasing strategy according to the categories. 
•    Identify risks and opportunities related to suppliers, market.
•    Consult suppliers.
•    Assit to adopt the adequate procurement strategy for specific projects.
•    Run tenders, evaluate bids and make recommendations, based on commercial and technical factors; CMA CGM technical team will assist you in such appraisal.
•    Negotiate with suppliers, help for order placement.
•    Coordinate the preparation of the contract.
•    Actively participate in the cost reduction and transformation plan.
•    Follow up and report on progress, performance, scorecards - to management and relevant stakeholders from purchase request to final delivery and aftersales services.
•    Manage and develop your supplier pool.
•    Lead your purchasing eco-system (suppliers and internal customers).

PROFILE AND QUALIFICATIONS

•    Bachelor degree and/or Master degree in purchasing, procurement management.
•    At least 5 years experience in a purchasing position, ideally in the services procurement field.
•    A strong level of expertise in negotiation on technical subjects is required.
•    Interest in technical subjects and in the construction industry.
•    You already have international exposure, and you are fluent in written and spoken English. 
•    Your relational and leadership skills will help you to develop strong relationships with all stakeholders. 
•    You are result oriented, creative in finding solutions, rigorous and autonomous, flexible and customer orientated.
•    You may have to travel for this position.
