Chartering Negotiator - Temporary Contract

THE ROLE

 

You analyse the needs and negotiate chartering agreements in order to provide the best possible vessels and operating conditions to the Lines.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Through your technical knowledge on vessels and experience in shipping activities, you define, in collaboration with Line Managers, commercial and technical specificities of chartered vessels
  • You carry out studies about vessel availability
  • Your negotiation skills, autonomy and sense of initiative enable you to lead negotiations with the shipowner, about the main terms of the chartering agreements (delivery place and date of the vessel, chartering period and rate, etc.).
  • In order to charter vessels in the best conditions, you monitor the market evolutions (availability, chartering rates and conditions) and help Line Departments to select vessels. Besides, you ensure a competitive intelligence and summarise key-information for the Top Management of the Group
  • You deal with contentious matters and litigations linked to the Charter party, in collaboration with law experts of the Group.

 

 

PROFILE & COMPETENCIES

 

  • Postgraduate degree (4/5 years) in Sales, Procurement and/or Maritime Technics
  • You are fluent in written and spoken English and you have a good command of Office and IT tools
  • Your analytical mind and capacity for synthesis, your sense of initiative and your involvement enable you to succeed in your mission.
