Civil Engineering Projects Manager

CMA Terminals is a port operator used to develop, design, build, own and operate terminals and dry docks. CMA Terminals welcomes CMA CGM lines but also invites all shipping companies to develop terminals and offer a top quality service.

 

 

THE ROLE

 

CMA Terminals Holding is looking for Civil Engineering Projects Manager who will be responsible for the structuring and supervision of the different civil infrastructure projects within both North and South Americas within of CMA CGM terminals’ portfolio (CMA Terminals +Terminal Link). You report to CMATH Head of Infrastructure in the Head Office in Marseille.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Overall responsible for the implementation of all civil engineering projects, whether these are greenfield, brownfield expansion or M&A projects, from feasibility and due diligence to design, execution, and final handover, including warranty period. Two types of projects :

  • For projects already staffed within existing terminals or Project JV, you provide guidance, monitor progress and intervene when necessary, with supervision.
  • For projects not yet staffed, you initiate the first steps in terms of required studies and/or surveys, structure the project with required resources internal or external. You also contribute to sourcing with adequate staff.

 

In general terms, your tasks will be the following ones:

  • Ensuring compliance with contractual scope/specification, timeline and budget
  • Managing services by owner engineers, technical consultants and site surveyors
  • Setting up and managing construction contracts, coordinate interfaces with all relevant field of expertise (equipment supply and IT contracts), including HSSE / E&S matters
  • Maintaining close collaboration with each Technical functions within HO and/or concerned terminal in order to ensure operational compatibility
  • Implementing regular reporting to HO, with KPI on CAPEX and time schedule.

 


PROFILE & COMPETENCIES

 

  • Master’s degree in civil-Engineering
  • Minimum 5-year experience in Port/Logistics or Maritime construction, ideally within container terminal business
  • Efficient in planning, budget and contract management, ability to deep dive analysis and documentation
  • Hand’s on in MS Project, CAD, Excel, Powerpoint etc...
  • Excellent communication skills in English, speaking another language, especially French and/or Spanish would be a real advantage
  • Able to manage effectively in a multicultural environment, comfortable in front of both senior level management and technical experts.
