Flight Operations Engineer

Today, we are reaffirming our values by continuing our growth through the newly created CMA CGM AIR CARGO division.

This new activity enables us to offer a comprehensive range of services, thus reenforcing our strategic position with our global customers.

 

Already equipped with a fleet of 4 long-haul aircraft (1 x A330F and 3 x B777F), CMA CGM AIR CARGO aims to continue its growth with the acquisition of 2 new Boeing B777Fs, which will be added to the fleet, with deliveries scheduled for the end of 2024 and 2025. 8 Airbus A350Fs will complete the fleet in 2026 and 2027, with CMA CGM AIR CARGO being the launch airline for this new aircraft. 

Flight Operations Engineer has the primary responsibility of ensuring that all aspects of flight operations are covered before the day of the flight. The individual will work on both short- and long-term projects, involving multiple teams from different departments. The projects may range from deep technical analysis to organizational activities. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Bring and promote innovation, initiative, responsiveness, and pragmatism to the Flight Operations Engineering department. 

  • Develop/improve the business-related procedures of the Flight Operations Engineering department and ensure the management of operations manuals in collaboration with flight crew and Operational Control Center members. 

  • Manage flight operations software (flight planning, aircraft performance, weight & balance, etc.). 

  • Conduct flight feasibility studies in collaboration with the commercial department. 

  • Organize the launch of new flight routes and ad-hoc flights, optimizing the routes and analyzing the relevant airports. 

  • Analyze fuel consumption, monitor aircraft performance trends, and propose corrective actions to improve these indicators. 

  • Ensure CO2 emissions reporting on a monthly, biannual, and annual basis. 

  • Participate in the integration of a brand-new A350F into CMA CGM AIR CARGO’s fleet. Coordinate the deployment and configuration of the related software, adapt the operations manuals, conduct aircraft performance and weight & balance analysis, and obtain all necessary regulatory approvals. 

  • Assist the flight crew and Operational Control Center members in their daily activities. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Aeronautical engineer (BAC+5) or Master’s degree in aeronautics. 

 

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

 

  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with changing needs and requirements. 

  • Ability to work independently and in a team, take initiative, and communicate effectively. 

  • Self-starter with a willingness to continuously learn new skills to improve processes and technology at CMA CGM AIR CARGO. 

  • Experience in a multicultural environment. 

  • Fluency in English. 

 

CONTRACT

 

Executive contract with a fixed daily rate, based in Marseille, with frequent travel to the Paris CDG office.
