THE ROLE:

 

Working for head office and historical shipping company of the Group, the Tax Accounting team is in charge of accounting transactions related to taxes, declaration forms sent to tax authorities and internal reports and documentation.

In a complex and international environment, the tax accountant is expected to have a good understanding of the transactions between group entities as well as a good knowledge of the information systems.

She/he is also asked to be active in proposing process improvement solutions in order to strengthen internal control.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • In close collaboration with Tax Department, the tax accountant is in charge of accounting transactions related to taxes, declaration forms sent to tax authorities and internal documentation.She/he is responsible for booking these transactions and justifying the related balances in the financial statements. She/he is also fully involved in compliance-oriented tasks.
  • The tax accountant prepares the tax forms for the entities in his/her scope, submits them to the Tax department and produces all the supporting documentation.
  • The tax accountant is in charge of preparing the following declarations (non-exhaustive list): VAT, CFE, CVAE, DES, C3S, property tax, etc. As such, he/she will also be responsible for functional administration of the declaration tool (CEGID).
  • Following the recent ERP migration in 2023 and in a view to strengthening our control environment, documentation and process improvement will be of most importance in this position:
    • formalizing accounting and declaring processes
    • describing accounting schemes
    • developing internal controls

 

  • In a highly evolutive environment, the tax accountant will have to propose and implement improvements in the new accounting solution, both in terms of tools and processes.
  • Hence she/he will work closely with projects/IT teams.

 

 

PROFILE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Degree in Finance/Accounting (Master 2 level minimum)
  • Interest for information systems and good knowledge of Excel
  • English: operational level
  • Proactive, curious, good interpersonal skills
  • Autonomy, sense of initiative and attention to detail
