Head of pricing Project Cargo

MISSION

You will act as Head of pricing Project Cargo. As such, you will be responsible for managing an existing team of project cargo managers / pricers with the aim to streamline commercial, operational and pricing activities and practices across the different project trade desks.

This position seeks to work closely with all parties across the CMA CGM Group organisation covering end-to-end management of the project cargo movement from sales quotation to shipment and operational execution.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly reporting to the Head of the Division, and in close contacts with line management, you will plan and implement a trade and pricing policy for our oversized and heavy lift segment.

•    Play a key role in delivering both commercial strategies and pricing policies to drive business growth for the Group
•    Facilitate the smooth handling of all project cargoes across the end-to-end process
•    Assist the pricing team members to build and improve their commercial offers, utilizing a strong understanding of our technical and operational capabilities, project cargo markets and landscape, customer retention, conversion …
•    Drive selection of solution options, work with the Engineering team to assess technical and operational solutions
•    Act as the "voice of the customer" within the team to ensure the team "builds the right thing"
•    Coordinate and provide support to the sales network with a view to help them promoting our service offerings and capabilities, by the way optimizing their performance and achieving their sales objectives
•    Develop strong customer relationships in liaison with the KAMs team
•    Drive engagement with third parties to support delivery of group objectives
•    Lead the implementation and development of internal tools ans business process related to Project Cargo Activities
•    Identify the key strategic priorities & the most impactful value proposal levers to create sustainable value
•    Work on project cargo yearly budget & business plan
•    Build an awareness of market trends and competitive landscape, lead the project trade teams to analyze their respective market trends
•    Track & review performances per sector
•    Manage a growing team of project cargo managers
 

In close relationship with the Head of Project Cargo Division, you participate as a driving force in the Division’s transformation and innovation projects and process :

•    Shape the team vision, roadmap and steer the team in delivering agreed material offers and performances
•    Plan resourcing for the team (i.e., new role, change in role) and strengthen team’s cohesion amongst the respective project trade desks and project cargo managers
•    Develop people’s transversal capabilities and cross knowledge (geographical, trades, ports capabilities …), and by the way optimizing efficiency of available resources and actual workload
•    Build pricing team’s training and education
•    Identify, challenge and implement pricing innovative solutions to existing processes, pricing techniques, tools and organization 
•    Interact with other teams within the project cargo divisions to implement cross-team tasks

 

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

You have a postgraduate degree (+ 5 years) from a Business or Engineering School.
You have 5 years minimum experience. Knowledge in trade pricing, ship operations and stowage planning would be appreciated.
Good knowledge of operational activities or project cargo experience would be an asset.
You are perfectly fluent in English and have good command of IT tools for monitoring and data analysis.
With strong leadership, you have already managed teams and projects.
You are influential, very customer-oriented and have good interpersonal skills, which will enable you to succeed in your position and face new challenges within our Group.
