THE ROLE

As part of a replacement, we are opening up this role of Maritime Regulatory Watch and Compliance Manager. The main task will be to coordinate maritime regulatory monitoring work.

In a few words, the regulatory watch team monitors all regulations concerning safety, security and environmental issues applicable to CMA CGM Group vessels. This monitoring covers regulations adopted at international, regional and local levels, as well as requirements imposed by the flags of owned vessels:

  • Environment: Energy (GHG, alternative fuels), ballast water, Sox, Nox, on-board waste management, biofouling, dismantling, etc.
  • Safety: loss of containers, equipment, fire, life-saving appliances, radio communication, navigation safety, ship stability, etc.
  • Security: piracy, cyber security, etc.

Any major non-compliance by a ship can result in its detention by the port state authorities. The stakes are therefore high for the Group.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitoring, steering and coordinating the activities of the regulatory monitoring team.
  • Identifying key contacts, both internal and external, and deadlines affecting the team and the Group.
  • Creating presentations and follow-up documents.
  • Managing internal communications.

  • Around 5 years' experience in a similar position would enable you to quickly grasp the role's tasks

  • The qualities needed to succeed in this role: good communication skills, good interpersonal skills, ability to see the big picture and to work with a customer focus (internal in this case).
