It will rely on strategic industrial and academic partners experts in the maritime industry (laboratories, companies, startups, shipyards, etc.).

 

YOUR ROLE : 

 

The Rail services Procurement Officer plays a critical role in optimizing the procurement process within the organization. By effectively managing annual tenders, spot negotiations, and cross-functional actions, this position contributes significantly to achieve cost savings and enhance supplier relationships across all agencies of his scope. The position requires a strong business and procurement process knowledge, connectivity with local teams and ability of interacting with different countries, ensuring operational efficiency. Travel within Europe is expected for this role.

 


WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

 

Annual tender management:

  • In close collaboration with local Intermodal teams, identify potential suppliers ensuring a diverse and competitive bidding environment.
  • Collect business needs from local commercial teams and define new services to procure. 
  • Coordinate the entire tender process, including writing requests for quotation, evaluating bids, and selecting suppliers based on quality, cost, and compliance with company standards.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with selected suppliers to secure favorable pricing and service levels while mitigating risks.
  • Formalize agreement via Transport Contracts.

 

Spot Negotiations:

  • In close collaboration with local teams, continuously analyze market trends to identify opportunities for spot renegotiations that can benefit the organization in terms of pricing and availability.
  • Engage in negotiations with suppliers for one-time purchases, focusing on achieving the best possible terms and conditions. 


Supplier Qualification and Continuous Improvement:

  • Establish criteria for qualifying subcontractors and conduct assessments to ensure they meet company standards for quality, reliability, and compliance.
  • In close collaboration with local teams Identify opportunities for operational improvements and cost savings within the procurement function and countries, implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

 

 

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

 

  • Master’s degree in supply chain management,procurement, business administration or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a procurement role within a multinational organization, ideally in logistics industry.
  • Expertise on Rail sector is preferred.
  • Proven experience in strategic sourcing and tender organization.
  • International experience is preferred.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successful contract management.
  • Excellent analytical abilities and proficiency in data analysis tools.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Fluent in English is needed, other languages spoken in Europe is a plus.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail
