YOUR ROLE : 

 

Within the legal department, the Ethics & Compliance division is looking for a passionate and committed Compliance Officer / Legal Expert on Duty of Vigilance and Human Rights to join our Duty of Vigilance team.

 

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO? 

 

Reporting to the Deputy Director of Ethics & Compliance - Business Integrity and Duty of Vigilance and Human Rights of the Group, you will participate in monitoring the implementation of the Ethics Charter and coordinate the deployment of the duty of vigilance program for the entire group at an international level.

Starting from the duty of vigilance risk mapping, your main tasks will include:

 

  • Risk Analysis: Evaluate risks across different processes and stages of the value chain for Group entities: detailed assessment of human rights and environmental risk factors (context and nature of activities, country risk, relationships with external third parties such as suppliers, clients, contractors, etc.); Participate in coordinating and updating specific risk mappings and defining action plans; Conduct due diligence on third parties and projects, especially in the context of M&A operations; Identify existing preventive and mitigating measures for risks; assess their effectiveness, propose improvements, and evolve processes and practices.

  • Adaptation and Implementation of Action Plans: Contribute to the development, management, facilitation, implementation, evaluation, and update of the Group’s vigilance plan, including measures to prevent and mitigate risks related to human rights and the environment.

  • Policies, Procedures, and Reporting: Update procedures related to the duty of vigilance and ensure their communication and enforcement within the Group; Draft vigilance reports and documents related to legal obligations; Contribute to the definition and implementation of an annual action plan within the Group.

  • Advisory and Support: Provide legal advice to various internal teams on duty of vigilance issues. Propose improvement areas and additional measures to address identified risks, in collaboration with relevant internal stakeholders.

  • Training & Awareness: Organize awareness and training sessions for staff on duty of vigilance and human rights issues. Work closely with the Group’s ethics & compliance network and participate in its coordination.

  • Regulatory Monitoring: Ensure continuous monitoring of legislative and regulatory developments related to duty of vigilance.

  • Follow-up, Reporting, and Communication: Monitor the implementation of mitigation measures in collaboration with internal teams. Set up tracking indicators and assess the effectiveness of implemented measures. Prepare regular reports on the progress of actions, aimed at both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Liaison with Other Departments: Ensure close coordination with other internal functions to address compliance risks and support an integrated compliance approach across the group; Assist in coordinating the 3 lines of defense.

  • Tools: Leverage digitalization and artificial intelligence techniques to improve operational efficiency, client experience, risk management, and cost reduction.

 

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR? 

 

  • Education: Degree in law/business school, specializing in international law, business law, or human rights. Master's degree / DU in ethics and compliance.

  • Experience: At least 6 years of experience in a similar role, ideally within an international company or an NGO.

  • Skills:

    • Excellent knowledge of compliance and CSR regulations, human rights, duty of vigilance, CSRD, CS3D, and mission-driven companies.
    • Project management and deployment of compliance programs.
    • Ability to handle reporting (dashboard management and KPI collection).
    • Strong analytical and synthesis skills.
    • Good written and oral communication skills.
    • Team player with the ability to work across departments.
    • Experience in consulting would be a plus.
