Terminal Operations Expert

CMA Terminals Holding is part of the successful CMA CGM Group, the world's 3rd largest container shipping company. CMATH is a port operator used to develop, design, build, own and operate terminals and dry docks. It welcomes CMA CGM lines but also invites all shipping companies to develop terminals and offer a top quality service.

 

 

THE ROLE

 

  • Assess and help improve the regular operational performance of each Business Units (BU) within CMATH terminals portfolio
  • Provide support for operational improvement when needed
  • Support Business Development projects for all operations-related topics.

 


RESPONSIBILITIES


Operational Performance

  • Ensure that terminals are providing consistent levels of service and keep focused on constant improvements
  • Take accountability of operational reporting, including monthly Opex analysis and use of operational KPIs, then reported to CMA Terminals Holding Operations Department
  • Meet with Terminal Management and Clients to review operational performances
  • Conduct targeted operational audits
  • Propose solutions at technical and/or managerial levels to meet both moves & schedules requirements whilst optimizing Terminal’s assets and resources
  • In particular, support terminals with their yard Strategy, manning structure, berthing line-up, equipment dispatch
  • Benchmark Operational practices and organizations across Group’s facilities and promote and implement best practices
  • Support terminals with any structural projects like expansion, densification, change of operating model.

 

Business Development support (Greenfield projects or acquisitions)

 

  • Support project for business development and as the case may be: analyze and compare potential operation model, coordinate operational due diligences, pilot external technical studies, etc.

 

Interfaces


•    Other Group technical departments, in particular CMA CGM Lines Ops, QHSSE, IT and Engineering.

 

 

PROFILE & COMPETENCIES

 

  • 10 years in container terminal operations, including one significant experience in the Operation Department of a container terminal
  • Crossed cultural awareness and general knowledge of a liner environment
  • Autonomy and sense of initiative, interpersonal, managerial and communication skills
  • Responsiveness and work ethics, team spirit & result-oriented
  • Fluent in French & English, both spoken & written
  • Willing to travel, this position requiring regular travels.
