Chief Information Officer - CMA Terminals Puerto Antioquia

 

CMA Terminals is a port operator used to develop, design, build, own and operate terminals and dry docks. CMA Terminals welcomes CMA CGM lines but also invites all shipping companies to develop terminals and offer a top quality service.

 

 

 

THE ROLE 


Lead and manage a team of IT specialists to meet the availability and performance commitments ensuring high availability of IT services supporting the daily operations of the Terminal. The CIO will be also responsible for the quality in delivering new information system and ensure that the components delivered are used in full operability by the business team as well as IT.
This position will manage an IT team initially composed of 11 to 12 people. 
The CIO reports to the CEO of the terminal.
 


RESPONSIBILITIES 


As Head of the IT department and a leader of the terminal-wide information system, the CIO will be responsible for the projects activity, for the IT production activity ('Run') while also being responsible for the IT team management. Thus, the CIO will oversee:


•    In concordance with the CEO, define the IT roadmap and transformation of the Terminal Information System with regards to the business needs and objectives
•    Building an annual and multi-year roadmap composed with programs, projects, system updates and migrations in collaboration with IT Terminals Group team (CMA CGM Head Office)
•    Terminal Operating System related projects and support services
•    Terminal Automation related projects and support services
•    Large integration project management (internal IT projects and fixed-price IT projects)


o    Leading large IT projects, including the deployment and the acceptance of new IT systems and services
o    Planning, Budget and Risks management
o    Major decisions (including arbitrations preparation), Deliverables and Action plan follow-up
o    Organization and animation of various program/project committee
o    Elaborating, running and sharing regular reporting on the progress of the project
o    Integration of the major customer systems with the Terminal systems


•    IT Production management
o    Developing and implementing IT policy complying with architecture and security rules enforced by CMA CGM's IT Terminals Group.
o    Planning, organizing (processes and best practices included), controlling and evaluating IT operations
o    Project portfolio management handling annual budget and ensure cost effectiveness
o    Maintains organization's stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements.
o    Ensuring security of data, network access and backup systems (conducting regular system audits)
o    Elaborating, running and sharing regular operation system reports with the terminal manager
o    Evaluating hardware/software suppliers and developing integration and testing strategies for new hardware/software.


•    Managing the IT Team composed with various IT profiles and skills
o    Providing direction for IT team members
o    Manage IT staff by recruiting, training and coaching employees, communicating job expectations and appraising their performance
o    Global animation of the IT team
o    Global organization of the IT activity (scope, actors, skills).

 

 

PROFILE & SKILLS 

 

•    Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems or a similar computer-oriented major (Coursework for either degree can include computer engineering, programming, networking, mathematics or database management).
•    An IT oriented or business administration master's degree is an advantage.
•    10 years of professional IT experience as a senior/supervisory level IT Engineer/Software Developer of a Large Enterprise OR 5 years of experience as an IT Manager (also from a Medium to Large Enterprise).
•    3 years of professional IT experience in the Marine Terminal Industry (multipurpose terminal).
•    Voluntary IT certification in operating systems and other IT technology products is an advantage.
•    Industry-neutral certifications like those offered by the Computing Technology Industry Association, Project Management Institute or the Security Certified Program are an advantage.
•    English level (compulsory): advanced, professionally fluent.
•    Functional areas/processes in a Terminal.
 


Other Requirements


•    Knowledge of multipurpose marine terminal operational processes and procedures.
•    IT Project management and delivery skills utilizing various standard frameworks and methodologies.
•    Team Management and Leadership.
•    Project, budget and time management skills.
•    High Technical understanding on Enterprise IT solutions.
•    Security policies knowledge
•    Knowledge and experience in marine terminal Terminal Operating System software.
•    Knowledge in marine terminal automation solutions (OCR Portals, RTLS Solutions, etc.)
•    Problem solver, Critical thinker, Analytical mind and Research orientation.
•    Outstanding communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
•    Excellent verbal and writing skills in English & Spanish.
•    Good understanding of port labor rules & regulation (in Colombia is a plus).
