Intern - Trade Analyst

YOUR OBJECTIVE


As Trade Analyst Intern, you will be supporting the Trade team in the management and coordination of trade lanes, with the main focus being to optimize vessels performance in terms of volume and revenue.

In conjunction with the Trade Manager, you will develop strategies that will be applied by the commercial team.


YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Handle pricing and optimization (volume, revenue) of assigned trade lanes & services
  • Maintain and validate tariffs & special rate requests in the information systems
  • Follow up and oversee bookings on each sailing to ensure targets in volume, contribution and cargo mix are met
  • Work closely with the sales team, to ensure vessel optimization and support the development of new business
  • Monitor price trends, competition and prepare performance analysis reports to ensure that CMA CGM policies remain competitive in the market and to assess relevance of the policy and adjustment needs 


YOUR PROFILE

 

  • Education: Currently completing - or recent graduate - a University Degree with a major in marketing, international trade and/or logistics and transportation. 
  • Good knowledge of the shipping or logistics and transportation industry
  • A first internship or work experience in a similar role is a plus 
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task time sensitive issues
  • Analytical thinker, must be details and results-oriented
  • Good communication skills in oral and written English and ideally bilingual in French
  • Ability to work as a team and be self-driven
  • Very good Excel skills
