Trade Manager - Vessel Optimization

POSITION SUMMARY
Your main responsibility will be to maximize the loading capacity and available space on vessels under your scope by balancing commercial priorities with the goal of minimizing costs as efficiently as possible.
You will oversee the optimization of vessel profiles and also contribute to the development of commercial statistics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to support the Canadian Trade Department.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop the annual budget, forecasts, revisions and business plans for the assigned services
- Develop and maintain Vessel profile.
- Ensure the services are optimized in terms of slot utilization by using dedicated tools (Traffic Lights, ESR, etc)
- Follow booking trends and work on short term vessel forecast with Cargo Flow department.
- Develop strategies to optimize P&L (Cargo Mix optimization, Operational Cost reduction, etc)
- Create, maintain and review Customer Allocation in accordance with Vessel Profile
- Collaborate with the pricing team to ensure Pricing strategy is in line with Vessel Profile strategy .
- Collaborate with other trades teams worldwide to negotiate favorable conditions for Canada Export Cargo (2nd leg allocation, slot cost, etc)
- Work in close collaboration with Cargo Flow team to take decision on Load List, Cargo Selection, Cargo Roll.
- Maintain and update routing instructions as needed
- Develop and maintain key performance indicators.
- Stay up to date with department processes and tools by using training resources as available.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: College degree or equivalent
- Experience: Minimum 3 years’ experience in Container Shipping
- Other: (any other knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)
