Container Sales Analyst

Position Summary:

 

The Container Sales Analyst is responsible for analyzing sales data and market trends to support the sales team in achieving revenue targets. They will gather and interpret data on container sales, customer preferences, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth and optimize sales strategies. The analyst will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop pricing models, forecasts, and sales reports. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of sales processes are essential for success in this role.

 

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

 

  • Identify the targeted sale units enroute to the US/Canada and update return instructions in Lara to capture those units.
  • Communicate with depots to accept sale units and place non-entry holds in the depot/terminal systems
  • Update and maintain the container sales-pending database of all new sale units that have been captured at the depots. Also for signed contracts, payments, releases to the depot and final sale of each unit.
  • Create and monitor the weekly online auctions. Troubleshoot issues with the customers during the auction.
  • Ensure all contracts are created and sent in a timely manner for the units sold. Prepare and notate all the account functions behind the purchase and sale of each unit. Monitor the sold fleet to ensure it departs quickly or bill for storage fees.
  • Manage the high inbox volume of customer inquiries, payment processing, contract returns, and accounting functions. Assist to answer customer calls on the shared que line.
  • Maintain/update the sales saving reports for volume and cost monthly.
  • Miscellaneous related duties or projects as assigned. 

 

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

 

  • Attention to detail with problem solving abilities
  • Cost minded and willingness to take on challenges
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment.
  • Proficient skills in Excel required, (i.e. data manipulation, formulas, lookups, filters, pivot tables)

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

 

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Previous experience working with customers and vendors via email and phone
  • Previous experience using the Microsoft software suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point, etc.)
  • 3+ years of general experience required.
