Cost Optimization Analyst

Position Summary:

 

This position serves as a technical data expert and supports the Director of Cost Optimization to achieve service excellence, cost analysis to ensure we are finding ways to reduce cost to serve customer while maintaining best service to customer for Intermodal and Terminal operations.

Maintain and create new reports as needed to create best visibility and follow up on action item for with respective team – intermodal, operation, trade, cargo flow, sourcing and any other

 

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

 

  • Maintain all current reports and create new reports ( if needed work with Buisness inteleegince and Data team )
  • Constant analysis of daily , weekly report with respective departments
  • Work with cost control finance team to get more detail analyssis as well from finance
  • Follow up on all action items with thier deadline
  • Support intermodal, operation team as needed
  • Utilize Operations Dashboard reports to interpret data sets, including but not limited to trends and patterns that could be valuable for diagnostic rail cargo velocity issues.
  • Perform accurate analysis to identify problems and propose solutions
  • Prepare Rail data in the Daily Flash Report for OEM meeting that effectively communicate trends, and identify improvement areas.
  • Provide ad hoc reporting as instructed
  • Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly operational and costing KPI reports for Intermodal Department
  • Miscellaneous related duties or projects as assigned. 

 

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

 

  • General understanding and working knowledge of the transportation industry in one or more of the following areas: Electronic Data Interface (EDI), KPI management, Intermodal Operations
  • Process management and project management experiences preferred. 
  • Proficient computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Proficient knowledge and usage of LARA Intermodal system and various Rail Websites.
  • Ability to work under stress and tight deadlines with high level of accuracy
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate orally and in writing with strong presentation skills
  • Ability to monitor and manage priorities and work on multiple tasks concurrently.

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

 

  • Associate’s degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of general and industry experience required.
