Position Summary
Manage all collection efforts for 1st and 3rd party to ensure CCA collects as much debt as possible with little to no exposure.
Manage relationship with the relationship with our customers, the Collections Department (located both locally and remotely), and internal stakeholders for an assigned customer portfolio with the objective of improving the customer experience and maximizing working capital.
Responsible for identifying obstacles impeding ability to collect timely, proactively seek solutions and influence process changes to improve results.
Functions & Duties
• Partner in the collection process with the Collections Department, Sales and our customers to meet daily/weekly/monthly collection targets to minimize past due invoices and maximize collections. Monitor outstanding debt to drive collection goals.
• Foster positive relationships with customers through timely handling of escalations. Research and resolve issues with invoices which may result in unpaid receivables.
• Proactively drive end to end improvement in customer invoicing accuracy through dispute root cause analysis.
• Enforce Credit Policy. Organize Credit Management meetings with Divisional VP and Local Sales team
• MISCELLANEOUS RELATED DUTIES or PROJECTS AS ASSIGNED
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
• Extensive knowledge of collections processes aimed at reducing DSO
• Knowledge of the ocean container shipping industry
• Exceptional skills in MS Excel: including pivot tables, v-lookups, and graphing functions
• Ability to develop and execute a collection strategy aimed at reducing delinquency and improving DSO
• Ability to manage offshored and remote teams
• Ability to assess collection performance and prepare management level reporting
• Be a creative and collaborative problem solver willing and able to constructively challenge current methods and processes to propose and implement improvements
• Must possess strong analytical, written and verbal communication, and inter-personal skills and is able to use these traits to influence outcomes
• Ability to simplify and improve inefficient or unnecessarily complex processes
• Ability to balance competing priorities in a dynamic business environment
