Intermodal Coordinator (Rail)

Position Summary:

 

Serves as the primary approver for export rail bill requests including accurate details regarding weight of the commodity, booking, container and seal number.   This position is responsible for final HAZ IMO approval and ensures commodity / weight compliance regarding rail / land-bridge moves.

 

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

 

  • Monitor vessel schedule and documentation status.
  • Issue Export Rail billing via LARA and railroad website.
  • Determine and assign routes and rates.
  • Issue, Follow-up and/ or reconcile receipt of dispatch orders.
  • Handle HAZMAT documents.
  • Utilize Internet and other software to assist in tracking requirements.
  • Handle significant volume of telephone and written communication.
  • Maintain timely and accurate records.
  • Timely communicate to management any problems or potential problems.
  • Miscellaneous related duties or projects as assigned.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

 

  • Detail-Oriented person with strong organizational skills
  • Works collaboratively with team members
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good interpersonal, organizational and problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of Intermodal general operating procedures.

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

 

  • High School diploma required.
  • Proficient computer skills to include all Microsoft applications (excel, outlook, word).
  • Associate’s degree preferred
