Intermodal Coordinator (Rail)

Position Summary:

This position serves as the primary point of contact / dispatcher for export land-bridge truck drays. Works with multiple truckers across the USA to ensure containers are moved in the allotted free time from the rail ramps to the ports. Position requires working with port operations, trade customer service and procurement regarding receiving dates for the intended vessel, rates and distribution of truckers and is responsible to minimize any potential storage.  


This position will be responsible to:

Creates and issues work orders for land-bridge and cross-town moves.
Ensures all export containers are moved from rail ramps to the ports in a timely manner to ensure containers make intended vessels and to minimize storage.
Ensures correct cost on Transport Orders for land-bridge moves prior to being invoiced by the trucker.
Issue Export Rail billing via LARA and railroad website.
Issue, Follow-up and/ or reconcile receipt of dispatch orders.
Handle HAZMAT documents.
Utilize Internet and other software to assist in tracking requirements
Handle significant volume of telephone and written communication.
Maintain timely and accurate records.
Timely communicate to management any problems or potential problems.
Miscellaneous related duties or projects as assigned.

Skill Sets / Education & Experience Requirements:

High Diploma or GED required
1-3 years of general work experience.
Proficient computer skills to include all basic Microsoft applications (excel, outlook, word)
Good attention to detail and organization abilities.
Excellent customer service and communication skills. (verbal and written)
Detail-oriented person with strong organization skills

Skill Sets / Education & Experience Preferred:

Associates degree preferred.
Knowledge of Intermodal general operating procedures preferred.
