Training Manager Intermodal & Truck

Summary

The Intermodal Training Manager is responsible for the training needs of the door, rail, and lanbridge teams within the Intermodal Group. This includes classroom training of new hires and refresher training for all associates. The Training Manager will prepare curriculum and ensure all process guidelines are up to date and provded to all associates. The Intermodal Training Manager is responsible for on the floor training, coaching, and motivating employees to perform their daily job functions effectively. This individual must stay current with business practices. This individual will also provide functional support to the intermodal teams when not involved in training projects.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop, schedule, and conduct training activities for the Intermodal Team to include Rail, Truck, Logistics and process development.
  • Manage by creating new or maintaining current curriculum of Process Guides, Checklists, FAQ’s and Resource links. Ensure SSC procedure guides are up to date based on business changes.
  • Monitor progress of new hires for 3 to 6 months. Provide refresher training that is warranted, based on feedback from management.
  • Provides direct functional support for the Intermodal Truck and Rail Teams.
  • Provide analytical and reporting capabilities to the Control Tower and INO function and management
  • Responsible for managing the schedule for the Cross Departmental Training Initiative. Act as a mentor for the designated Intermodal CDT sponsors. Manage training records and provide statistics to management as needed.
  • Key User for LISA deployment.
  • Map workflow processes and procedures for each position
  • MISCELLANEOUS RELATED DUTIES or PROJECTS AS ASSIGNED

 

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Experience in process development preferred.
  • Training Knowledge: Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.
  • Communication:  Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods. This includes alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media.
  • Has the business and technical skills for the job; understands how business works.  Knowledgeable in policies, practices, trends and technologies relevant to the job.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree - REQUIRED
  • Industry Experience - 4-6 years REQUIRED
  • General Work Experience - 4-6 years REQUIRED
  • Experience in training, presentations, and public speaking - PREFERRED
