General Accountant

This job is based in Paris for the MEDIA BU of BFM / RMC Group. 

YOUR ROLE :

Within RMC-BFM's finance department, the position reports to the Accounting Manager.
 

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO? 

General accounting production : 

- Management of fixed assets
- Management of taxes, provisions for liabilities and charges, tax and social security liabilities, 
- Production of bank reconciliation statements.
- Management of all provision entries and intra-group flows
- Management of inventory entries
- All other tasks in conjunction with the tax and accounting department. 

Monthly closing operations:

- Balance sheet review: examination and revision of balance sheet items.
- Participate in monthly management closings: prepare worksheets, review activity with management control.
- Prepare restatement entries for the preparation of consumer reporting packages for the companies you monitor. 
- Contribute to the transfer of CMA CGM Group consolidation packages into the conso reporting tool (OneStream) for the RMC-BFM subsidiaries under your responsibility (transfer of packages, intra-group, correction entries, validation of aggregates, etc.).

- Participate in the production of financial statements and appendices

Tax obligations:

- Prepare all tax returns inherent to the companies you follow (non-exhaustive list): VAT, DES, CVAE, DAS2, etc.

Barter activities (Sale of services / products / inventory in exchange for media space)

- Supplier invoice accounting and trade lettering
- Processing of VAT discrepancies
- Monitoring and analysis of positions by partner
- Investigate accounting/controlling reconciliation discrepancies within the division.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR? 

- Education: minimum bac+2 in accounting, management or similar field.
- Experience :

• 4 years' initial experience in a similar position in an accounting department or public accounting firm
• Good knowledge of French tax rules and IFRS standards
• Knowledge of the media is a definite plus

- Technical skills: proficiency in office automation tools, knowledge of SAP a plus.
- Other skills: In addition to the skills expected for this type of position (rigor, autonomy, listening skills and team spirit), dynamism, pragmatism and good interpersonal skills with operational staff are key assets for success in this position.
