As part of its growth and development, CMA CGM Holland is looking for a Customer Service Officer to join its Import team, in the Short Sea Line (SSL) department. 

 

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Customer Service Officer Import manages all customer service import-related issues for either specific trades or a specific range of customers. They can handle all queries from customers, operational departments and other SSL (back) offices and can multitask within the Customer Service Import team.

 

The key responsibilities of the Customer Service Officer Import are divided as such :

  • Timely handle incoming vessels and all related tasks 
  • Arranging on-carriage in liaise with Transport department and inform customer on the whereabouts of the container
  • Handle and solve any customs related issues and inform other agencies about wrong system input
  • Check if payment is timely received before release for listed customers and assisting Sales and Finance in payment follow-up. 
  • Properly monitor all additional costs against individual bookings
  • Upgrade and improve customer satisfaction experience by proactive information supply 
  • Making sure the freighting workflow and reports are properly followed up minimizing last minute short falls and making sure correct charges are manifested 
  • Reviewing, improving and implementing work procedures and company policies as well as updating the customer profiles
  • Recommending potential products or services to management by collecting customer information and analyzing customer needs

 

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Excellent knowledge of the Dutch & English language
  • Highly organized and self-motivated with ability to plan and coordinate workflows
  • Some work experience in an international customer service environment 
  • Specific knowledge about all documentation aspects
  • Excellent knowledge op MS Office package
  • Good communication skills (oral & written)
  • Knowledge of shipping INCO-terms
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment
  • A logic approach to problem solving 
  • Customer-focused & Pro-active
