Procurement Officer, Intermodal

Summary
In this role, you will be responsible for providing support to the Asia Regional Procurement Manager (ARP) in formulating and implementation of procurement strategies by providing analytic and tools support such as supply and demand, cost analysis, vendor review for trucking, rail, barge and domestic feeder (intermodal) and land spending. 
 
Your main responsibilities are, but not limited to:

  • Conduct data analysis and detailed comparison and to provide discussion points for manager's review and decision to support contract negotiations. 
  • Gather business intelligence data such as market benchmark, historical pricing, suppliers' profile to optimize negotiation strategy
  • Assist ARP team in maintaining the contracts and rates database in Asia covering functions of intermodal and land services.
  • Participate and support analysis of RFQs and cost benchmarking for intermodal and land spending. 
  • Prepare managerial report on cost analysis, negotiation status etc, when required.
  • Track and report ARP's KPI achievement for intermodal and land spend periodically. Pre-alert and highlight variance when necessary 
  • Monitor and report on vendors' performance through key performance indicators periodically.
  • Develop analytical tools as necessary
  • Liaise with various- departments such as Lines, Cost Control, Agencies to ensure timeliness and accuracy of all data for decision making.

 
To perform well in this role, you should possess great data analytical mindset, strong organisational skills.
 
Minimum Requirement:

  • Degree in relevant discipline 
  • At least 1 to 3 years of experience within the maritime or logistics industry 
  • Experience in container shipping operations or procurement would be advantageous
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel (i.e. vlookup and pivot table) and Powerpoint
