Summary:
As the Senior Trade Executive, you will report to the Trade Manager and be responsible for overall commercial activities of your assigned area(s) in Asia with target to maximize revenue, liftings and profitability. With yield management as the core function, the role compromise of mainly data analysing (40%) and stake-holders management, internal and external (60%).

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Trade Manager in overall commercial activities of your assigned area(s)
  • Establish and maintain close effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, including Head Office, agencies and customers 
  • Monitor changes in allocations/forecasts from assigned area(s) and understand their challenges in order to drive vessel utilizations and performance 
  • Proactively monitor and make recommendations to fine tune vessel profile in order to improve cargo mix and profitability 
  • Manage specific accounts in terms of pricing and space allocations
  • Assist both Regional and Head Offices in establishing pricing policy for your assigned area
  • Proactively source for reliable market intelligence (rates/capacity adjustments) to stay on top of market changes

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum a Diploma Holder or above, preferably in shipping, logistics management or business administration and/or with 2-3 years working experience in the container shipping / freight-forwarding (ocean-freight) industry
  • Proficient in MS Excel, specifically in Vlookup, Pivot-table, basic formulas, would be highly preferred   
  • Good knowledge of the shipping / maritime industry
  • Strong communication skills and customer oriented
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment
