General Accountant (m/f/d)

Created on January 1st 2008, CMA Ships is a fully-owned subsidiary of CMA CGM with the objective to manage all fleet related operations.
CMA Ships is ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified and operates under various flags’ Documents of Compliance (DOC).

A team of more than 4,700 seafarers of all nationalities including more than 300 cadets are working at sea and ashore. It includes a Marine Human Resources Department to accompany the seafarers, a fleet management department with more than 40 superintendents ashore, a dedicated department supervising the ship-buildings, the development of IT systems and working on energy issues and innovation with engine experts, a dedicated Purchasing department, a specialized team to organize the vessel dry docks as well as a team of experts to run the Fleet Navigation and Support Center to monitor the CMA CGM fleet 24/24.

With a modern and innovative fleet to the service of excellence and safety, tomorrow’s vessel devices are designed and tested such as LNG energy, engine tuning or hull shape optimization… acting every day for a more sustainable shipping Industry.

 

 

For the CMA Ships Germany entity in Hamburg we are - temporarily at first - recruiting a

 

GENERAL ACCOUNTANT (m/f/d)

 

Your responsibilities include:

•    Responsibility for the financial accounting of CMA Ships Germany in Hamburg – actively contribute to the growth and success of CMA Ships Germany 
•    Booking and accounting of business transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, banks, payment transactions and travel expenses
•    Determintation, reconciliation and posting of accruals as well as other items of the general ledger

•    Monthly reconciliation of various general ledger accounts
•    Reconciliation and analysis of suppliers SOAs
•    Creation of statistics and evaluations

•    Support in SAP project, including testing and implementation phase
•    Supporting Finance Manager

 

You bring aboard:

•    Business degree with a focus on accounting and/or commercial education with further training as an accountant (IHK) 
•    Ideally already professional experience in the described accounting fields
•    Routine in MS Office package, especially Excel

•    You are characterized by independent work, diligence and team spirit
•    Demonstrated willingness to be flexible to change priorities
•    Strong organizational skills

•    Solution-oriented work ethic
•    Patience and composure in dealing with challenges
•    Adept at conducting research into project-related issues

•    Very good written and spoken English language skills, German appreciated and French desirable, but not mandatory
•    Knowledge in working with Oracle and SAP is considered an advantage
