THE ROLE

 

Manage seafarers in respect of safety, performance and cost while ensuring compliance with national and international regulations, company procedures and Collective agreement.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

You shall:

  • Ensure that all the seafarers embark with all compulsory certificates and qualifications, check their medical status and manage repatriations for French seafarers
  • Complete seafarers’ personal details in dedicated software: qualifications, medical certificates, skills & trainings, appraisals, etc...
  • Participate in the planning process in close cooperation with Singapore Crew Managers, establish long term planning for French seafarers
  • Briefing of seafarers prior to next contract and debrief them on completion of contract
  • Inform the French Fleet Captain and Marine Human Resources Director of any serious issues that may affect future contracts and fleet stability
  • Ensure that all application forms for flag administration endorsements are completed and prepare seafarers’ contracts of employment
  • Arrange crew travel, ensuring that the appointed agents contact the Travellers’ Club to arrange any accommodation required if needed
  • Advise and provide all required information and documentation to port agents to ensure that appropriate permits to board are issued
  • Manage local family welfare issues keeping the Payroll and P&I Claims Officer informed.

 

 

PROFILE & COMPETENCIES

 

  • Graduated from a Bachelor’s degree
  • 3 years’ experience in maritime industry
  • Good knowledge of:
    • Mandatory STCW certification requirements
    • Flag Administration requirements
  • Competent with various software, such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc....
  • Fluent in English
  • Good time management skills, ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines, rigorous and methodical
