Drydock Deputy Manager

THE ROLE
Second, and take over when required, the drydock manager in managing vessel stoppage in shipyard for class renewal, repairs or retrofits.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Generalities :
- Comply with IMS and all relevant international rules and regulations.
- Ensure all his duties are in accordance with quality, health, safety, environment, and ethics policies.
- Propose a continuous performance improvement plan which will be reported and reviewed on a periodical basis.
- Assist workshops to review standard specification.
Team management:
- Second Dry dock director in managing the teams (in office and on site) and ensuring its efficiency.
- Second Dry dock director in establishing and implementing the teams training plan.
Planning:
- Manage dry dock planning in liaison with Fleet Deploy and Fleet to minimize the impacts on the operations and comply with Fleet requirements.
Execution
- Provide technical and operational advice to Project Leaders.
- Ensure that the processes are well followed and well understood by the team.
- Advise project leader in financial aspects: facing large deviations budgets and huge extra costs during dry dock.
Financial:
- Review DAI and EDD for approval.
- Validate handovers with Project Leader before sending them to fleet.
- Assist to dry dock annual budget validation.
PROFILE & QUALIFICATIONS
- Fleet manager, senior project leader of equivalent engineer seniority level
- Good knowledge of Shipping industry: 4
- Vessel systems
- Repairs processes and class / flag requirements
- Fluent English
- French is a plus
Experience
- 8 years minimum in ship management.
- Significant experience in ship maintenance and repairs.
