YOUR ROLE
We are looking for an Assistant Warehouse Supervisor for our Built-to-order space. You are responsible for managing one of our teams at our Medical Device Campus and you manage a team of specialist engineers in Heerlen. This is a new medical customer. Central to this position is maintaining an overview, coaching, monitoring / signaling and adjusting your team. Together with the Warehouse Supervisors you ensure that the employees feel good and can meet the planned KPIs. In addition, you participate in projects aimed at improvement, in which you also make improvement proposals yourself. The application of the LEAN philosophy is very important here.
As an Assistant Warehouse Supervisor, you work closely with your team of Warehouse Operators (5-10 people) and you work together to achieve the desired result! In addition, you have a lot of contact with fellow Assistant Supervisors and your manager (Warehouse Supervisor). You also come into contact with various support departments such as customer service, planning and stock management. You have our location in Heerlen as a place of employment. The global medical client for which you will provide the logistics operation specializes in diagnostic imaging products. About 700 people are currently employed at our location in Heerlen. In addition, you work in shifted shifts between 06:00-21:00. To prepare you as well as possible, you will be trained 5 days a week at our location in Eindhoven for a period of 1 to 2 months.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
As an Assistant Warehouse Supervisor you will:
• Guide/manage your employees in their daily activities;
• Monitor and adjust operational progress and daily capacity needs;
• Supervise compliance with regulations;
• Roll up your sleeves for challenges that cannot be solved by your employees;
• Manage the stock of consumables and packaging items of your own department;
• Taking over his/her duties in the absence of the supervisor.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
With your enterprising and pro-active attitude, you don't shy away from a challenge. Motivating and enthusing people are of paramount importance to you. Achieving the desired result together is the motto! Because of your flexibility and resistance to stress, you try to go for success every day. You are flexible in working hours (due to shifted shifts). You also bring the following knowledge and experience with you:
• At least an intermediate vocational education, preferably in logistics;
• Knowledge of processes, (quality) procedures and systems within a warehousing environment;
• Experience in a logistics executive function;
• A good command of the Dutch and English language.
