Insurance Manager

Job Overview:

The Insurance Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of insurance operations within the company. This includes managing insurance policies, claims processing, and ensuring compliance with regulations. The Insurance Manager plays a crucial role in mitigating risks and ensuring the financial security of the organization.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive insurance strategy aligned with the company's overall goals and objectives.
  • Identify emerging risks and opportunities in the insurance market and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to integrate insurance considerations into broader business planning and decision-making processes.
  • Lead the evaluation, selection, and negotiation of insurance policies to optimize coverage and cost-effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with insurance and reinsurance carriers, brokers, and other key stakeholders.
  • Ensure that insurance policies adequately cover the organization's assets, liabilities, and operations.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential hazards, liabilities, and vulnerabilities.
  • Develop risk management strategies to mitigate identified risks and minimize potential losses.
  • Establish policies and procedures to promote risk awareness and compliance throughout the organization.
  • Oversee the claims handling process, ensuring prompt and fair resolution of claims.
  • Provide guidance and support to claims adjusters and legal teams in managing complex or high-value claims.
  • Implement measures to prevent and detect fraudulent claims and minimize claims-related expenses.
  • Stay abreast of insurance laws, regulations, and industry standards to ensure compliance.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory filings and reports as required by relevant authorities.
  • Monitor insurance budgets, expenses, and performance metrics to assess the effectiveness of insurance programs.
  • Analyze insurance data and trends to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management and board of directors on insurance-related matters.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all insurance lines
  • Provide comprehensive support to Levant group entities, ensuring smooth operations and compliance.
  • Implement Head Office Global policies specifically tailored to Lebanese entities, ensuring alignment and adherence.
  • Facilitate the computation and submission of employee shares to HR for deduction from salaries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Conduct regular follow-up on ARB Liban receivables, managing outstanding payments efficiently to optimize cash flow.
  • Collaborate with the CFO to develop and present key performance indicators (KPIs) and budgets, while also undertaking various finance-related tasks to support organizational objectives.
  • Manage legal tasks pertaining to policy development, language refinement, and compliance with Ministry of Finance/ICC requirements, ensuring full adherence to regulations and industry standards.

 

 

Personal Qualifications:

 

Education/Experience:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certification mainly in Risk Management is highly desirable.
  • Extensive experience in insurance management, with a proven track record of leadership and strategic planning.
  • In-depth knowledge of insurance principles, practices, Claims and regulations, particularly in the relevant industry sector(s).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
  • Proficiency in insurance software’s, financial analysis tools, and Microsoft Office.
  • Good knowledge of written and spoken Arabic, French & English
  • Ability to read a variety of instructions and to interpret insurance documents.
