Ground Operations Postholder

Already equipped with a fleet of five long-haul aircraft (three A330-200F and two B777F), CMA CGM AIR CARGO is on an ambitious mission to continue growing its current fleet with the acquisition of new freighters. CMA CGM AIR CARGO has already confirmed orders for four Airbus A350 freighters and will become the world’s first airline to launch and operate this state-of-the-art cargo aircraft.

RESPONSABILITIES : 

The Ground Operations Postholder is appointed to this position by the Accountable Manager and must be accepted by the French DGAC. He reports to the Accountable Manager. He is responsible to arrange appropriate ground handling facilities to ensure the safe handling of CCAC flights. He shall have a thorough knowledge of the CCAC’ ground operations concept.

 

His main activities and responsibilities are:

•    Manage, organize and develop every ground operations related subject in order to ensure the highest possible degree of safety, security, economy and punctuality in ground handling operations throughout the CCAC operations;

•    Responsible for internal and external customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction and revenue, quality service and operations costs and productivity, whilst ensuring compliance with regulations and all relevant CCAC policies and procedures;

•    To effectively plan human, subcontracted and facilities/equipment resources to meet and exceed internal and external service levels at all times, and to provide excellent service to customers;

•    To deploy and monitor department processes policies and procedures in order to ensure the consistency, efficiency and quality of internal and external customer experiences;

•    To comply with Health & Safety and Environment regulations in order to maintain a safe working environment for self and all the ground operations employees;

•    To contribute to the effective rollout of Business Unit Operations projects, through contribution of professional expertise and leadership;

•    Investigate and analyse all incidents and act as appropriate to resolve arising structural issues;

•    Ensure compliance with all national and internal applicable legal and industrial regulations and to ensure that the highest operating standards are maintained in the handling of Dangerous Goods;

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES :

•    University or engineering degree or equivalent in a field related to the position: Aeronautical, Operations management, transport or logistics;
•    At least 10 years of relevant management experience in the aviation industry (airline/airport operations or ground handlings);
•    Proven ability to effectively manage demanding internal and external stakeholders and demonstrate the commercial acumen required to succeed as a senior leader in airline/airport operational environment; 
•    Ability To lead, motivate and empower ground operations staff through effective and open communication, excellent leadership, regular performance feedback and teambuilding, in order to maximise business results, employees’ satisfaction and team productivity;
•    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, problem solving skills, and being able to work under pressure; 
•    Strong research, analytical, writing and policy development skills;
•    Fluent in English
