YOUR ROLE
Our e-commerce operation based in East Midlands Gateway have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic Operations Manager to provide direction across the new warehouse operation and drive operational efficiency to meet and exceed our customers’ expectations.
This fast-paced environment embraces automation and operational best practices. It will provide essential Logistics services such as inbound & outbound customer fulfilment and value-added services, as well as utilising an approved network of transport providers.
Due to the nature of the operation, we have the below shift patterns available:
Sunday - Wednesday 5am - 2:45pm OR 2:15pm - 10pm / Wednesday -Saturday: 5am - 2:45pm OR 2:15pm - 10pm.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
Leading a team of 2 Shift Supervisors and circa 50 indirect reports, plus agency resource you will provide management control through effective planning, organisation and communication to ensure all KPI targets are achieved. You will implement strategies to form a management team that creates, sustains and embeds a culture of employee engagement as well as strong development and succession plans.
You will drive performance improvements through auditing processes and reporting mechanisms, identify, evaluate and implement continuous improvement projects in collaboration with internal teams and ensure that all activities remain within quality and budgetary targets.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Our ideal candidate will have proven experience of leading large warehouse teams and significant operational experience within warehouse operations, ideally within an ecommerce environment with demonstrable experience of building and developing exceptional client relationships.
You will possess strong people management skills with the ability to coach and develop others and be a skilled decision maker who is able to interact and engage with colleagues at all levels.
Experience of cost models and budget tracking along with strong report writing and statistical investigative skills are also key requirements for this role.
