Ground Product Development Manager

YOUR ROLE


Responsible for the strategy, release, ideation, features as well as roadmap of the product to be developed. Also responsible for the product evolution through the product’s lifecycle and is to be involved in any project that concerns the product. Collaborate daily with cross-functional operational teams, such as operations, IT, sales and customer support, regarding the future of the product. Models and acts in accordance with our guiding principles and core values.

 

Salary Range: $100,000 - $130,000 plus Bonus 

 

 

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
 

  • Product Implementation & Growth - Define the product strategy along with the project stakeholders. Responsible for the scope of present and future product evolution. Manage the entire product line lifecycle from requirements to prototyping and testing new features and ideas. Responsible for all project deliveries. Ensure proper return-on-investment. Establish time schedules with IT and Business partners. Creates user stories / use cases for current and future evolution based on the market/customer’s problems. Provide visibility, status updates and roadmap to stakeholders.
  • Customer Centricity & Market Expertise - Act as the “expert of the market” in order to define product strategy based on customer’s needs and feedback.  Assess market competition by comparing the company’s product to competitors’ products. Determine customers’ needs and desires regarding the product. Identify and propose potential new market solutions to grow the product lines. Provide source data for product line communications by defining product marketing communication objectives.
  • Organization, tools & processes - Define and implement tools and processes needed for the product operational excellence. Complete operational requirements by scheduling and assigning team members; following up on work results. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Provide daily demonstration of effective and engaged leadership with regard to people, tools and processes and product.
  • Develop and engage key working relationships with Executive Management, Program Management, BU Leaders, Managers, Directors and Supervisors globally, Customers, External Vendors, IT experts, SME and other project Stakeholders.

 

 

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

 

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Masters degree preferred.
  • 5 + years experience in Operations Excellence or Customer Service ideally in the freight forwarding, customs, Supply Chain or other similar industry.
  • Project and Product Management experience

 

Skills:  

  • Speak at least one foreign language other than English
  • MS Excel; ground & rail knowledge required
  • Advanced Excel skills; detailed ground & rail knowledge preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job specific software applications.
  • Excellent Numerical and analytical skills
  • Project & Change Management

 

Characteristics:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to articulate the views and requirements of both external and internal parties and come to a common agreement
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and develop appropriate solutions.
