YOUR ROLE
Warehouse Team Lead
The Warehouse Team Leader directs the daily activities of Warehouse Associates involved in the Receiving, Picking, Packing, and Releasing of products and Inventory control activities. They are always on the grounds to check and evaluate the performance of Associates and ensure that the operations are smooth and meet customers' expectations. They use their ability to assign each Associate to specific tasks based on the specialization for maximum output. In addition, they ensure that the work environment is healthy and conducive for Associates to carry out their duties.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ?
- Responsible for accurately performing warehouse activity as per directed by management with quality and productivity targets.
- Helps warehouse leads with developing, implementing, and supporting policies and procedures; ensures all established policies and practices are followed by the warehouse team.
- Lead all receiving, picking, packing, and releasing activities performed by the warehouse team; trained in every department.
- Maintains high visibility and access to employees on the warehouse floor throughout the shift. Reviews, prioritizes, and organizes all orders within scope.
- Forecasts daily/weekly/monthly crewing needs to meet peak business demands and coordinates with lead to staff team accordingly.
- Leads by example and trains, motivates, coaches, rewards, and disciplines team
- Leads transactions in the Warehouse Management system (WMS) to ensure correct inventory management.
- Resolves warehouse-related issues with representatives from other departments throughout the Company.
- Coordinating with the warehouse leads to managing personnel issues and requests. Make all work-related records available to Management, such as attendance and efficiency performance. Performs administrative tasks, as necessary.
- Maintains a working knowledge of all warehouse operations and trains new Associates.
- Supports safety programs and all required safety training for the crew. Performs other related duties as assigned by Management.
- Leads up to 15 warehouse employees. Give Associates detailed feedback on their level of performance and coach and train Associates to improve performance.
- Leads crew by example by loading trucks and performing other duties
- Warehouse team lead help develop Warehouse Agents perform and cross train the below tasks:
- Picking: Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line. Pick orders as per pick tickets and process them by finding the product in the warehouse, picking products from the correct location, scanning the products, and placing them in the correct picking tote or cart.
- Packing: Verify order details and inspect products to be packed to ensure that there is no damage, missing, or wrong item. Adequately prepares parcels for mailing. Pack orders per specific packing instructions, ensure no product damage instructions, assemble customer orders from stock, place orders on pallets or shelves, or convey orders to the packing station or shipping department. Marks materials with identifying information. Opens bales, crates, and other containers.
- Releasing: Palletize orders as per orders and shipping details ensuring quality and accuracy. Prepare shipping documentation and load trucks.
- Inventory control:
- Count products as per cycle count plan or checking request, verify no misplaced or damaged products in the location and support records. Report inventory discrepancy to Team Leader. Perform quality inspection upon request.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR ?
- High School Diploma or a General Education Degree (GED) equivalent school needed
- Minimum of one to two years’ experience in a warehouse or equivalent.
- Ability to work forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment and RF scanners
- Adequate Knowledge of WMS (warehouse management system)
- Ability to stand for prolonged period and lift or move heavy products
- SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Minimum of two - three years in supply chain, logistics, warehouse or similar Warehouse worker, Warehouse Associate, or a similar role in the Logistics Department
- Demonstrated experience in planning and directing work taking initiative to drive results
- Specialized training in business, computer applications information systems in logistics or related field preferred
- Workflow planning, leads tasks
- Must be able to work overtime when needed
