Financial Controller CMA Terminals

 

CMA Terminals is a port operator used to develop, design, build, own and operate terminals and dry docks. CMA Terminals welcomes CMA CGM lines but also invites all shipping companies to develop terminals and offer a top quality service.

 

 

THE ROLE:

 

Within CMA Terminals Finance team, you supervise and follow-up on the financial performance of a terminals portfolio. You will join a team of 6 people, including 5 Financial Controllers and the CFO, and will report directly to the CFO. 

The team is responsible for a portfolio of more than 50 Terminals worldwide. 

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:


Your position within the finance team will be multi-purpose and based on the following missions:

 

  • Monitor the performance of your own asset portfolio 
  • Analyse and challenge the monthly management account of your scope, and year-end forecasts, as well as variances with the annual budget
  • Follow-Up the Capex Plan and Cash Forecast of the terminals of your scope
  • Produce the monthly consolidated financial reporting including financial & operational KPIs for the CMA CGM top management
  • Participate in the preparation of annual budgets and validation meetings process with the CMA CGM top management
  • Contribute to the improvement of tools, processes, data reporting for performance monitoring
  • Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and international standards
  • Propose and trigger necessary actions and remedy plan to correct any fluctuations and optimize, with the support and assistance of CMA CGM lines, operational & sales CMAT teams
  • Develop relationship with the CFOs, the management and the co-shareholders: you are the main entrance point between the terminals and the head office regarding financial specific topics and validation

 

Cross-cutting missions:

  • Perform financial analysis in order to support certain decision-making processes and financial control (IRR, valuation, cash flow projection, breakeven calculation…)
  • Participate on cross-cutting topics in coordination with numerous internal departments within CMA CGM as follows: accounting, legal, cash, procurement, tax department, cost savings 
  • Participate to the monitoring the financial management of the Holding Company
  • Take part of internal legal restructuring 
  • Lead projects and elaborate financial models for business development and/ or entrance of new partner regarding your scope of assets: analyse project market, define and budget required due diligences, review assumptions, pilot expert team efforts (technical, legal, financial, insurance, etc.), coordinate Port Authority/Partners requests, assist in leading negotiations

 


PROFILE & QUALIFICATIONS: 

 

  • Master's degree in Business or Engineering with significant financial skills
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in Audit or in Transaction Services with a strong accounting component or in a financial department (controlling) in a company
  • You are familiar with French GAAP as well as IFRS
  • You speak English
  • You have a very good command of Excel, Power Query and ability to effectively manipulate and analyze large data sets
