YOUR ROLE

The General Manager Transport Strategy & Innovation works within the CEVA Logistics Ground Transport Senior Leadership team and is responsible for leading and implementing innovative and automated transport solutions or strategies for new business opportunities and existing customers. 

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

Specifically, you will:

•    Evaluate and introduce new strategic initiatives for Ground Transport, such as new fleet, blended fleet, property and cross docks, including automation relative to the business needs 
•    Deliver and design transport solutions through evaluation and introduction of suitable handling mediums (MHU/MHE) in cross docks, and any relevant automation relative to the customer’s needs 
•    Maintain working relationships and collaboration with industry vendors including transport technologies and specialist firms for property or automation technology 
•    Redesign existing operations and transport processes with consideration of network impact
•    Coordinate effective assessment of solution concept efficiency, undertake simulation studies on capacity profiles and productivities, along with incremental investments 
•    Provide expertise in the cost modelling and analysis of business for pricing determination and business improvement analysis 
•    Deliver an ANZ innovation pipeline through assessment of both existing and new network initiatives
•    Recommend changes to present and future innovations through operation’s requirement reviews and appraisal of new innovation/automation ideas
•    Develop business case and ROI analysis for any proposed innovations using standard costing and engineering tools.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR? 

Our ideal candidate has solid experience in ground transport or a related industry, including in a lead role focused on innovation / automation of transport solutions.

You should also have:

•    Strong commercial and financial acumen, including modelling skills and sound analytical capability generally
•    Strong knowledge of automation, material handling equipment, trailer configurations and software platforms
•    Detailed knowledge of transport process and operations, network flow design and optimisation and solutions engineering
•    Sound communication, planning and prioritisation skills, and presentation skills to executive level
•    Bonus: transport software systems knowledge.

In addition to providing proof of work rights and suitable professional referees, progressed candidates will be required to undergo a medical assessment and national police check.
