YOUR ROLE

Are you an analytical wonder who thinks in terms of possibilities? And can you ensure that with the help of your analyses and models, we can plan and steer our operation even better?

As a Logistics Data Engineer, you will create models and dashboards to guide future decisions and evaluate our performance to learn and improve. Your models provide your colleagues, the logistics operation, and management with insights into untapped opportunities, risks, and improvements in existing processes. Additionally, you take into account the environment you work in, the needs, desires and agreements made with our customer, bol.

In this role, you advise on priorities and develop tools to support both short- and long-term decision-making. For example, using models and dashboards, you enable your colleagues in the Controlroom to steer daily operations using objective data. Currently, we work extensively with Excel, but we aim to make significant improvements in this area. You will enjoy implementing a new system and driving its success.

You involve and engage the right people and enjoy collaborating with the operation to ensure your project achieve the best results. You are the specialist in your field, but you work closely with your colleagues in the Controlroom from your base location in Nieuwegein. You will also spend one day per week at our Nijmegen site and you are occasionally present at our fulfillment center in Waalwijk. You report to the Operations Support Manager.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Processing structured or unstructured data into insights for both existing processes and untapped opportunities;
Coding models and (having) visualizing discovered insights and predictions in a user-friendly dashboard;
Setting up and maintaining dashboards that highlight KPI's, ratios, and bottlenecks;
Translating data from these dashboards and models into actionable information for direct colleagues, the logistics operation, and/or management;
Researching, initiating, and developing innovations and/or improvements to existing models and analysis tools;
Regularly consulting with internal and external stakeholders to support your analyses.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

You have a higher professional education (hbo) working and thinking level;
At least 1 year of experience in data analytics or planning, preferably in a similarly dynamic work environment;
Strong affinity with logistics, supply chain, and/or fulfillment & warehousing;
Excellent knowledge of Excel and preferably familiarity with Tableau;
Strong communication skills and proficiency in Dutch and English, both written and spoken;
Full-time availability and the flexibility to work one day a week at another location, such as Nijmegen or Waalwijk.
