YOUR ROLE
Our operation in Daventry is looking for a highly organised and meticulous Transport Controller where you will contribute to the smooth, safe and efficient operational activities within the Transport Office to ensure we meet and exceed customer expectations.
The role will see you working Monday to Friday, 06:00 to 14:30.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
Reporting into the Transport Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day delivery routes and maintaining clear and effective communication with drivers. You will conduct driver debriefs and ensure the accurate completion of all necessary documentation, reporting vehicle faults and accidents within a timely manner and providing assistance when required. You will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on driver and fleet performance, ensuring efficiency and compliance with operational standards.
You will monitor and manage driver’s compliance within the Working Time Directives and infringements and liaise with third party companies to schedule fleet services and MOTs. You will ensure all activities are undertaken in accordance with the current legislation, company policies and procedures and best practice.
In addition, you will engage with customers daily, providing updates on load locations and addressing any inquiries they may have, ensuring customer service and operational excellence at all times.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Our ideal candidate will have previous experience working within a transport office environment. You will be an excellent team player with a high attention to detail. You must also be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and be able to build and maintain excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders. A strong understanding of WTD and drivers' legislation is crucial to be successful in this role.
