YOUR ROLE

 

Our omni-channel operation in Stanton Harcourt, Oxfordshire is looking to recruit a Head of Operations, this is an exciting opportunity for a strong operational leader where you will drive the coordination of activities across the operation ensuring safety, profitability and productivity targets are achieved in line with contractual agreements.

 

This amazing role will see you working in collaboration with the Senior General Manager and Contract Manager where you will focus on operational performance and customer service excellence ensuring efficient service delivery to guarantee customer satisfaction. 

 

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

 

Reporting into the Senior General Manager you will lead a management team of two direct reports, plus 120 indirect reports and agency resource where you will ensure operational excellence and customer satisfaction is achieved through effective operational forecasting and planning. With a focus on operational efficiencies and performance improvements, you will form a management team that creates, sustains, and embeds a culture of employee engagement, high performance, continuous improvement, and succession planning generating coaching, training, and development opportunities.

 

With a focus on operational efficiencies, you will drive outstanding customer service excellence, championing health, safety, and quality activities across the operation and lead and implement cost save initiatives through effective LEAN and Financial KPI targets.   

 

 

You will form excellent customer relationships through exemplary service delivery acting as the main point of contact for all operational performance activities investigating problematic issues or failures, where you will implement solutions and protective measures to mitigate future risk. You will take ownership of all monthly, quarterly, and yearly business reviews, creating reporting packs for the customer on operational KPIs, metrics and overall performance ensuring activities are in line with operational and contractual budgetary targets.

 

You will collaborate with senior management to support in new commercial opportunities, projects and value add solutions with a focus on organic growth, site development and the maximisation of revenue. You will support in creating, defining, and deploying operational strategies in alignment with product line objectives and participate in wider project support as and when required.

 

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

 

Our ideal candidate will have significant operational management experience ideally leading large operational teams within a fast-paced multi-channel environment. You will possess excellent leadership skills, with demonstrable experience of driving innovation, change, and continuous improvement initiatives. With a strong customer focus you will be capable of building credible internal and external relationships, confident in challenging the status quo, skilled at managing complex matters and practiced at implementing corrective actions. 

 

It goes without saying that you will be a natural communicator and presenter confident in showcasing operational successes and change initiatives to both internal and external stakeholder groups. This role requires an individual who is resilient with natural problem solving, decision making and influencing skills.

 

Desirable skills and certifications: (not essential)

 

  • Logistics and supply chain qualification.
  • Experienced in tenders and bid negotiations.
  • Ecommerce or omni-channel experience.
  • Project or Change Management.
