YOUR ROLE

 

The mission of the Studies Project Engineer is to carry out logistics and transport studies, to work on the creation or optimization of business solutions:

  • Carry out logistics and transport studies for known or new clients
  • Design and optimize customers' Supply Chain logistics solutions and participate in the implementation of actions as support
  • Conduct studies of logistics solutions for our 3PL clients at the request of Commerce  (BD and GKAM)
  • Prepare responses in agreement with Commerce/Business Development (BD) to the various tenders received
  • Optimize transport plans and identify possible synergies between our customers

 

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

 

ACTIVITIES

  • Gather and analyze customer requirements
  • Collects the information necessary to carry out the studies (purchase, resources, standards, deadlines, quality, etc.)
  • Carry out feasibility studies
  • Develop innovative and optimized solutions
  • Suggests flow optimizations to help improve performance
  • Gathers and analyzes offers from transport suppliers or service providers
  • Challenge offers/solutions received from internal suppliers (Group subsidiaries, business experts) or external suppliers in relation to the buyer
  • Draw flowcharts
  • Establishes a pricing proposal for services (transport, centers, administrative & documentary services)
  • Writes reports and summary documents
  • Presents the results of the study
  • Support operational teams in project implementation
  • Designs and implements monitoring indicators
  • Follows processes and reports on its activity

 

TRANSVERSAL COORDINATION

  • Coordinates and controls the studies of internal entities
  • Gains the trust of internal contacts affected by the project(s)
  • Gains the trust of internal parties
  • Mobilizes the impact of internal parties per project(s) around the achievement of common objectives
  • Mobilizes internal parties to meet customer needs

 

FEASIBILITY ANALYZES

  • Estimate expected costs
  • Performs simulations
  • Calculate margin using data
  • Evaluates and chooses the most appropriate response to customer requirements taking into account all constraints
  • Evaluates the feasibility of the project from geographical, industrial and legal points of view
  • Evaluates the opportunity, feasibility and future exploitability of a program or project
  • Identifies and evaluates the challenges of an action or project in terms of potential gains (profitability, productivity, savings, etc.) and added value
  • Presents and clarifies a feasibility study

 

STUDY PROCEDURES

  • Applies the performance methodology of study audits
  • Understands and delimits the scope of a study
  • Defines the study methodology based on the expected results
  • Presents and clarifies the conclusions of a study
  • Transforms the results of the study into an action plan
  • Prepares and presents offers to be submitted to BD/GKAM as part of customer calls for tenders

 

COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS OF CUSTOMER NEEDS

  • Understands and analyzes the needs and particular characteristics of the client
  • Summarizes the main elements of the tenders received to its management
  • Questions customers so that their answers are clear
  • Survey of customer situation and its requirements

 

Tips and recommendations

  • Supports and explains the choice of solution or resolution of a problem
  • Gives advice to facilitate or help guide decision-making
  • Identifies the advantages and limitations of the various options
  • Recommends solutions adapted to a customer requirement

 

Planning

  • Defines and consolidates a study schedule and response to calls for tenders
  • Identifies and plans deadlines while respecting customer deadlines
  • Establishes resources to monitor compliance with the schedule
  • Defines priorities and reviews current studies based on projects received
  • Establishes with the help of the Tender center / Commerce / Business Development a calendar of calls for tenders and shares it with project stakeholders/calls for tenders
  • Detects production delays compared to schedule
  • Estimate the time required for the study
  • Identifies and plans the different phases of a study/ project
  • Identifies and plans deadlines
  • Establishes resources to monitor compliance with the schedule
  • Prioritizes the stages of a study taking into account internal and external constraints (issues, importance, urgency, etc.) to plan the treatment
  • Overcomes possible hazards/delays by implementing corrective actions

 

Retex

  • Updates personal knowledge in his field of activity
  • Detects events or changes in the environment that may affect its area of ​​activity
  • Carries out prospective studies in relation to its field of activity (strategic monitoring)

 

MARKET INTELLIGENCE

  • Participates in the detailed inventory of all flows operated by our subsidiaries / the market by customer
  • Updates this database each time the flow changes
  • Monitors the automobile transport market

 

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

 

  • Higher studies (preferably Technical or Logistics)
  • Level of studies: Bac+5
  • Fluency in English and French
  • A 3rd language is a Plus
  • Windows, MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • MS Project, Access
  • Outlook
  • Internet
  • Programming (VBA), SQL query language;
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in Logistics
  • Project and risk management
  • Budget management

  • Logistics and transport regulations

  • Mastery of IT tools within its scope
