Domestic Specialist II

YOUR ROLE
Responsible for providing senior level support for monitoring, tracking and inspecting inbound freight to meet customer needs. Ensures freight is delivered on time. Models and acts in accordance with our guiding principles and core values.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
- Monitor, track, and inspect inbound freight to meet customers’ needs.
- Ensure freight is delivered on time in the most cost efficient manner.
- Route, track and investigate shipping problems and follow-up with customers.
- Inspect inbound and/or outbound freight.
- Quote rates and process and document shipment orders.
- Prepare paperwork for routing, close out files and send documents out on a timely basis.
- Communicate pick-ups requested by customers to dispatch.
- Inform customers of arrival and departures of freight.
- Verify and update shipment information into the system.
- Train new employees.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum five years related experience.
- Preferred: Associate’s Degree
Skills:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using units of U.S. or international currency, weight, volume and distance measurements.
- PC literate. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job specific software applications.
- Accurate typing skills and/or data entry skills.
Characteristics:
- Capable of communicating and interacting effectively with multi-functional and diverse backgrounds.
- Responds promptly and professionally to customer needs.
- Ability to read, comprehend and write basic correspondence.
- Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
