YOUR ROLE


Are you known for your logistics engineering expertise? Are you passionate about identifying and delivering operational solutions? If so, we have an opportunity that would allow you to provide professional logistics and transportation engineering functions, collect and analyze data, recommend solutions and assist with developing reports, proposals and related information.  

 

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
 

  • Collect, review, and analyze logistics and operational data, which involves the understanding of professional logistics and transportation engineering principles and practices.  

  • Recommend solutions or changes to current or proposed operations to ensure efficient results.   

  • Assist with developing cost models, assumptions, and risks for projects. May independently perform these tasks once fully trained.   

  • Assist with developing project, improvement, or current/future state proposals or presentations for customers or management; provide information and develop reports as required.  

  • Identify and deliver on project milestones and communicating with stakeholders. Assist with removing obstacles, and ensuring resources are available. Develop or recommend standard operating procedures, work instructions, transportation analysis, transportation routing solutions, and related materials.  

  • Develop transportation solutions as required for current/future state proposals. Communicate with the operations teams regarding routing designs, carriers, services, processes, labor requirements, etc. as well the ability to discuss the data, design, and pricing with customers. Ensure processes and operations comply with applicable laws, rules, and regulations; seeks advice and interpretation when required.  

  • Assist with related safety, quality, environmental and related needs as requested or required. 

 

 

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

 

  • Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or Industrial Engineering or equivalent education and experience; Master’s Degree in related field, preferred. More than one year of related experience. In depth understanding of and experience in the transportation industry. Experience in multi modal transportation operations, routing, capacity planning, etc. Knowledge of fundamental professional industrial engineering principles and practices. Understanding of applicable laws, rules and regulations related to area of assignment. 

  • Credentials: Professional certification may be required in some areas. 

  • Skills: Able to work with large amounts of data and to take information provided by operations and/or customers and distill it down into different formats that are to be used throughout the design process. Ability to leverage several systems and databases for engineering management and oversee and ensure the accuracy of specialized databases through auditing, reviews, and analysis. Capable of developing analytics, reports, and communications within engineering and operational design. Awareness of common systems and databases for engineering management. A working knowledge of the Blue Yonder Transportation Manager and/or Transportation Modeler software would be a plus or experience utilizing similar program. 

  • Characteristics: Able to communicate specialized engineering and operational information and facilitate communication across customers, operations, and other groups. Ability to identify and communicate potential operational or analytical concerns and facilitate change management.
