YOUR ROLE

CEVA Logistics is looking for a new Legal Counsel for the Benelux region. Our central department is responsible for all legal issues and acts as a business partner for our business lines and management in all fields of law. In this role, you will handle legal considerations, offering strategic insights to support our business growth. Your experience in corporate law and your ability to lead with engagement and drive will be essential in moving our organization forward.

WHAT ARE YOU DOING?
As a Legal Counsel at CEVA Logistics, you will play a pivotal role within our Benelux organization, providing expert legal advice on corporate matters. You will conduct legal reviews, evaluations, and the drafting and negotiation of tenders and contracts in both Dutch and English. This includes logistics and outsourcing/transport contracts, commercial lease agreements, IT contracts, purchase contracts, and Letters of Intent (LOIs). Your expertise will ensure these documents meet all legal standards and support our business needs effectively.

As a Legal Counsel, your responsibilities include:

• Legal Counsel for our Airfreight and Oceanfreight business.
• Supporting, advising, and training the management, central departments, and operational colleagues in all legal matters, particularly in civil, commercial, freight, and transport law.
• Processing of claims and litigation, compliance matters, and corporate law issues.
• Coordinating with external lawyers.

Additionally, you will have every opportunity to broaden your scope of responsibilities within our business lines and to specialize in other fields of law within our corporate organization.

WHERE WILL YOU BE WORKING?

We focus on becoming a product-driven organization in Air & Ocean Freight, Ground & Rail Logistics, Contract Logistics, Finished Vehicle Logistics, and Project Logistics. In recent years, CEVA Logistics has expanded globally through mergers and acquisitions.

Your office will be located in one of our central offices in the Benelux (Schiphol, Hoofddorp, Rotterdam, or Zaltbommel), which can be discussed. You will report to the Head of Legal Benelux and join a motivated and supportive team consisting of two legal counsels and a legal executive assistant.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are looking for a colleague with a confident and friendly demeanor, which will allow you to manage stakeholder relationships and ensure alignment with our business objectives. Your strong business acumen and commercial understanding will enable you to be an effective dealmaker, navigating complex and dynamic situations. With your independent and detail-oriented approach, you will handle legal considerations meticulously, offering strategic insights to support our business.

Our specific requirements for this position are:

• Master‘s Degree in Law from a Dutch University.
• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the legal department of an international company or a commercial law firm.
• Solid knowledge of contract and transport law.
• Experience within a fast-paced environment in a multinational/global organization.
• Commercial understanding and the ability to be a dealmaker.
• Fluent in English and Dutch.

In addition, you will receive:

• A gross monthly salary between €5,391.14 - €7,838.24 and 8% holiday pay (grading depending on your experience and level of education).
• A one-year contract with the prospect of permanent employment.
• Working conditions in accordance with our own CEVA CLA, including 25 holidays and 5 ADV days (by a fulltime employment).
• Profit distribution of up to 3% in the event of positive operating results and a good pension scheme.
• Travel allowance or NS Business Card.
• Working hours are flexible, with the option to set your own schedule and work location, including working from home up to one day per week.
• The option for part-time employment with a minimum of 32 hours/week.
