YOUR ROLE
We are seeking an experienced IFF Operator to join our team at Banksmeadow NSW. The role is responsible for meeting operational KPIs, maintaining external and internal customer satisfaction, and ensuring compliance with QHSE and pharma-related requirements where applicable.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
Specifically, you will:
- Solve all problems related to shipments
- Follow up inland activities and maintain timely updates of key shipment Event/Milestone status
- Liaise and negotiate with carriers (airlines, wholesalers, shipping lines, transport operations)
- Identify carriers and routes that meet client expectations and improve job profitability, working proactively with Front Office on sales strategy
- Ensure AOG shipments are prioritised and meet service obligations and criteria
- Keep the Operations Manager informed of any problems
- Provide operation-related customer service, including handling customer requests/bookings
- Respond to agent/customer queries promptly
- Register shipments in the Transport Management System
- Generate and issue appropriate shipment documents within the required timeframe
- Organise cargo pick-ups/drop-offs
- Transmit documents as necessary
- Liaise with overseas offices and assist with their queries
- Complete invoicing and file closures within the expected timeframe
- Approve overseas invoices and resolve unexpected charges
- Authorise invoices and credits from suppliers
- Process profit shares to overseas offices where required
- Assist in the training of new team members
- Coordinate LCL and FCL shipments and establish consolidations when feasible.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Our ideal candidate has sound experience in freight forwarding, as well as:
- Sound knowledge of air and sea freight operations with at least 2 years’ domain experience
- Understanding of industry terminology, including Incoterms
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Proficiency in computer systems
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Relevant industry qualification (ideally at diploma level or above) or 3-years’ experience required
In addition to providing proof of work rights and suitable professional referees, progressed candidates will be required to complete a national police check.
