YOUR ROLE

Are you an experienced leader with a passion for driving operational excellence? Join our team as the Operations Manager for our multi-contract warehouse at Kemps Creek NSW.

In this critical role, you will lead and empower the warehouse team, ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining accurate inventory, and upholding HS&E, quality, and KPI standards. You will also actively contribute to our continuous improvement programs.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

Specifically, you will:

  • Collaborate with team leaders to plan resource levels, define activities, and scope processes while upholding quality standards to ensure a successful warehouse operation in line with site contracts
  • Oversee all operational activities within the agreed scope of services, driving productivity, efficiency, and safety while achieving operational KPIs. Regularly review performance, generate weekly/monthly reports, and implement action plans based on audits
  • Exceed customer service expectations by developing strong relationships with our clients. Act as the focal point for supervising exceptions, implementing practical solutions, and ensuring long-term adherence to service standards
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and handle all necessary paperwork to meet customer requirements. Coordinate cycle counts, stock takes, and promptly address any customer issues, ensuring inventory accuracy is consistently maintained
  • Maintain a firm grip on the contract P&L, identifying cost optimisation opportunities, and educating team members on driving cost efficiencies. Conduct regular P&L reviews in conjunction with the Site Manager
  • Demonstrate proactive Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) leadership by promptly addressing incidents/investigations, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring employees' timely return to work after accidents. Conduct toolbox sessions on HSE site rules/policies and ensure team members comply with Safe Work Practices (SWPs)
  • Embrace and promote a LEAN operational culture, leading LEAN initiatives with the teams to enhance operational efficiency and continuous improvement
  • Manage and maintain warehouse and transport management systems related to the site contracts
  • Provide strong leadership to the warehouse team by actively engaging on the floor, offering support, maintaining consistent and clear communication, and setting high-performance standards. Manage counselling and disciplinary issues at the first level and drive multiskilling and succession plans.
