Operations Manager | Minto NSW

YOUR ROLE


As the Operations Manager for our Finished Vehicle Logistics facility at Minto NSW, you’ll lead the day-to-day activities of a dedicated team of yardpersons and contractors who provide an essential service in the transportation, storage, customisation and preparation of customer vehicles.


WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?


Specifically, you will:
 

 

  • Manage the operational activities, processes and systems within the branch to ensure CEVA’S compliance with customer contractual obligations and nominated service standards
  • Coach and develop your team to ensure the highest levels of safety, compliance, accuracy, productivity, performance and continuous improvement
  • Review regular performance reports, focussing on actions to improve cost/vehicle, utilisation and empty running
  • Coordinate vehicle and equipment maintenance and control, including the ongoing reporting and proactive management of vehicle and equipment maintenance
  • Ensure timely completion of transit damage non-conformance reporting and drive improvement and remedy to root cause
  • Liaise with customers, either directly or through direct reports, ensuring customer service expectations are being met through continuous feedback mechanisms
  • Support risk management, quality and SCA activities in order to achieve legislative and/or CEVA standards.


WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR? 


Our ideal candidate has experience in supervising operations within the transport industry, together with:
 

 

  • Applied understanding of Chain of Responsibility, planning and allocation / manifesting
  • Knowledge of metro and regional areas within NSW and, preferably major road networks in Australia
  • Experience and/or capability to coach, develop and engage an operational team
  • Good written and verbal communication, customer service / management, and influencing / negotiation skills
  • Sound troubleshooting / problem solving capability, commercial acumen and numeracy skills
  • Basic-intermediate experience in MS Office applications, and capable of learning new systems, software and technologies
  • Valid Australian manual driver licence.


In addition to providing proof of work rights and suitable professional referees, progressed candidates will be required to undergo a medical assessment and national police check.
