Summary Description

 

The Cargo Readiness Specialist provides a foundation of problem solving, knowledge and expertise in front line interaction meeting customer needs as well as interaction with other locations and processes within CMA CGM & APL. This position addresses problems requiring management level interaction; terminal and port analysis and empowerment.

 

 

Key Accountabilities/Job Duties

 

  • Provides Export Dwells for internal departments and co-ordination with terminals, rail, and depots to ensure CMA CGM containers are connecting with vessel schedules / ERD and load ports. Provides advanced knowledge of track and trace, alternative rail routes including a thorough knowledge of terminals & Railhead Regulations.
  • Cover and assist the Support Manager while they are in PTO or Schedule absence.
  • Managing the reps chasing activities
  • Provides training consultation to new hires in the areas of Cargo Readiness and all process updates, updating SOP and maintaining current and accurate training documentation in SharePoint.
  • Provides Cargo Readiness Reporting management, analysis, Creating and Loading Adhoc Export Customer Notices, assisting with NDNL escalations and compliance, Miami LOI backup and support when required during busy times.
  • Takes initiative and acts as lead on projects. Sets tasks and prioritizes as needed, and coordinates all aspects of multiple projects, makes recommendations on findings, assists management with User Acceptance Testing when required.
  • Provide Metric, reports and analysis on CR activities, Process Updates and Audit Rep Chasing.

 

Job Qualifications

 

  • Required Education: Bachelor’s degree or a related field or equivalent education and experience.
  • Experiences: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in transportation which demonstrates knowledge of terminals, transport, logistics or customer service and one of the following areas:
  • Documentation,
  • Regulatory Issues,
  • Operations, Equipment.
  • Skill Set: Excellent oral and written communication skills are a must, as is the ability to rapidly organize and analyze complex and diverse situations and large amounts of data using Excel.
