Cargo Readiness - Support Manager

Position Summary
Responsible for supervising associate performance and actively participating in the daily operations of the Cargo Readiness department to ensure efficient and accurate execution of processes.
Manages escalated issues involving both internal and external customers, ensuring timely resolution and effective communication. Performs additional duties and handles special assignments as delegated by management.
Ensures proper training, process adherence, and execution related to the tracking and reporting of post-booking released equipment and export-loaded containers. Oversees activities to ensure cargo delivery is supported by accurate documentation and completed within established timeframes to optimize vessel allocations and operational efficiency.
Provides ongoing feedback, coaching, and mentoring to staff members to support performance improvement, professional development, and a collaborative, high-performing team environment.

 

Functions & Duties
•    Monitor Reps activity to ensure container incidents, special customer issues and import/export cargo shipments are being resolved in a timely manner. Address grievances with the workforce to solve issues.    
•    Manage performance of team through performance evaluations and corrective action.    
•    Plans and directs the cargo readiness team's successful resolution of cargo readiness cases issues and escalated incidents.    
•    Manages activities of the cargo readiness team    
•    Leads the cargo readiness team in the efficient and effective resolution of cargo readiness case issues.    
•    Designs and maintains templates and other tools for use in working with all parties involved in best management of cargo readiness cases    
•    Serves as a resource to organizational leaders and managers for identifying and communicating operational process deficiencies and proposed process solutions.    
•    Consistent application of collective bargaining agreement and company policies.    
•    Prepare and compile reports for management.

At American President Lines, we are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The expected salary range for this position is $67,000 - $84,000 per year. The actual salary offered will be based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, and location.
In addition to base salary, this position may be eligible for:
