Job Summary
The Business Process Manager’s primary objective is to lead transformational projects for American President Lines, LLC (APL), its subsidiaries, and its agents – including but not limited to multi-department workflow optimization, organizational restructuring initiatives, and internal process changes tied to the evolution of information systems (IS) and related application deployments and enhancements. Key to the success of this role is the ability to understand the current state (as-is) and leverage business, project management, and technological expertise to devise and execute solutions that substantively improve APL’s business through cost savings, improved customer experience and product offerings, and simplification of tasks.
The candidate will also participate in various collaborative efforts with colleagues within the Business Process Management (BPM) community of CMA CGM Group including related teams in CMA CGM America (CCA) and those based out of CMA CGM Group’s head office in Marseille, France.
Key Results
1. Transformational project management
a. Projects are completed within agreed timelines, stakeholders remain informed via e-mail updates and meetings, and project information is updated in project management tools.
2. Process consultation
a. Provides consultation and direction to APL leaders seeking Business Process Management (BPM) advice and direction
3. Work with assigned business areas on transformational projects including consultation tasks, starting up projects, and following through on project objectives to completion.
4. Stay current on CMA CGM Group IT landscape including liner system enhancements, new application deployments, and security guidelines.
5. Communicate with senior leadership on CMA CGM Group initiatives impacting APL’s liner business.
6. Continually develop professional skills including those related to CMA CGM Group application platforms used for customer relationship management (Salesforce), data analytics and reporting (Cognos, PowerBI, Qliksense), and cloud-based social and productivity platforms (Meta Workplace, Microsoft Office 365)
7. Coach fellow BPM team members
Job Qualifications
Education
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of work experience and education
Experiences
• 5 years of experience in a business process improvement role inclusive of process design and software adoption
• 5 years of experience working with Microsoft Office products including Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• 3 years of experience in the international maritime industry including intermodal, port operations, trucking, and vessel operations
• CMA CGM information systems experience preferred
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
• US Flag maritime experience preferred
