Description

This position is responsible for ensuring cargo is routed to achieve balanced utilization across vessel resources while minimizing impact on network costs.  Responsible for working with Trades Pricing and Planning, Customer Service, Vessel Planners, Fleet Control and Equipment Management to evaluate vessel load forecasts, adjust cargo routing and support the development of plans to achieve key goals. 

The objective of the position is to make decisions which maximize profitability and reduce costs. The role involves working closely with teams from Trade / Operations / Strategic Liner Management and with other sub-regional EFC groups to analyze forecasts, track flows, and anticipate the network impact of both tactical and long-term strategic decisions. This position provides direction to Export Cargo Management teams, Logistics team, Planning teams, Trade pricing teams to operationalize what is required to maximize optimal utilization.

 

Accountabilities

This position is responsible for, but not limited, to the following:

  • Perform analysis required to maximize utilization, maintain vessel projections and worksheets for all outbound service.
  • Understand Trade/Pricing customer prioritization and ensure communication on booking management to achieve goals.
  • Work closely with CMA Logistics to ensure vessels are profiled properly to ensure maximum laden and appropriate empty match back.
  • Work with Yield Management to identify “correct” routings that maximize profitability and maintain full ships.
  • Provide direction to Logistics/Planners/ECM and offer daily support for unexpected issues and problem resolution.
  • Ongoing dialogue with TYG teams in NAM
  • Assist Equipment control with creating and processing Transportation orders (TO's) and assisting, dispatching of containers to APL Guam's trucking vendors.
  • Perform trucking vendor performance analysis using designated KPIs.
  • All other assigned duties.

 

Job Qualifications

  • Education – Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experiences – 5 years of experience working in Trade or Operations.
  • Skill Sets – Proficiency using Microsoft Office products, especially Excel.
  • Language Skills – English.
