Sales Manager (H/F) CMA CGM Guinée

Mission
 

Reporting to the General Manager, your main responsibility will be to steer the CMA CGM Group's sales strategy and coordinate all sales activities.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Contribute to the development of the sales budget and ensure that objectives are met.
  • Coordinate a team of sales representatives reporting directly to you.
  • Develop and maintain a customer portfolio (market and competitor monitoring, customer prospecting, sales promotion, and reporting).
  • Regularly update NOVA (visits, targets, opportunities, leads, benchmarks, etc.) and keep the teams informed.
  • Use NOVA as a tool to manage and motivate the team.
  • Actively and regularly meet with customers, following the frequency determined with the Sales Manager.
  • Weekly transmission of dry booking forecasts, monitor loading through to shipment, update and transmit quotes, and win back lost accounts.
  • Record freight requests for export. Send the request for agreement to the discharge port and obtain their confirmation or payment of a deposit for all or part of the freight before booking validation.
  • Record each quotation request, use AQUA to generate the quote, and communicate the freight amount to the customer as soon as the rate is received via NOVA.
  • Record demurrage discounts in the demurrage summary table and send it to sales management at the beginning of each week.
  • Ensure reporting and provide comments for the monthly Commercial Dashboard.
  • Generate statistics by trade and prepare all documents needed for smooth commercial operations.
  • Prepare Brand transit time tables as provided by the line and inform customers accordingly.
  • Inform customers of the status of their containers in relation to loading and transshipment ports, logistics services, and port operations.

 

Profile & Competencies

 

  • Master’s degree in transport and logistics, marketing and sales, economics and management, or statistics.
  • Strong knowledge of the shipping industry.
  • At least three (3) years of professional experience in a similar position with significant results.
  • High proficiency in management tools and relevant software (especially Excel, advanced level)
  • Excellent analytical skills (statistics, market data, economic data, etc.).
  • Rigorous, organized, proactive, self-controlled, punctual, with strong interpersonal skills, boldness, creativity, leadership, communication, and influence.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Bilingual in French and English.
